I lived right next door to warren street tube for 6 years, and I mean right next door :ninja: Am watching the reports at the moment, but it doesnt appear to be anything like the scale of the last events. Scary enough though, 3 trains 1 bus, exactly 2 weeks after the last one.  ,

Blair 3.15 now......... waiting

DAMN!

Just seen our armed police drawing their MP5's on some guy live on air. They've escorted him into a building. He's obviously being detained for some reason. His jacket was open, which the news channel has been quick to jump on, mentioning he may have been searched beforehand.

Following on from this statement...

MAN ARRESTED AT GUNPOINT

armedpolice5wu.jpg

Armed police have arrested a man at gunpoint near the entrance to Downing Street.

The suspect, of Asian origin, was led away in handcuffs as a police officer trained his MP5 sub-machine gun on him.

The man appeared to be naked underneath his jacket.

He was led away by armed police.

Inside Downing Street, Tony Blair had been holding a meeting with Australian Prime Minister John Howard.

Mr Blair had been due to hold talks with senior intelligence officers and police chiefs in the wake of the London bombings on July 7.

Instead, he called an urgent COBRA meeting to discuss the situation in the capital.

Afterwards, he held a joint press conference with Mr Howard.

The Prime Minister said: "I think what is important is that people do stay calm and react in the way that they are."

news here said 3 small exposions on subs and one on a bus. no death count yet. no news is any of them was suicide bomber.

stupid media questions asked of pm blair. sadly pm blair didnt shove the question up their azzs.

im still waiting for a stupid reporter to try to sneak into buckingham palace. question. your royal guard with the uniform and the very tall hats that stands gaurd of places. where their rifles ever loaded before hand? and are they using real modern rifles now taht are loaded? i seem to reemmber seeing them once long before the attacks using real stuff. year or two ago.

oh they might have one of the bombers. one of the bombs only smoked. failed to go off in one of the subs..

edit.

the bus bomb was a fail one. no one dead there. it looks like the bomb maker for these attacks fell asleep when he was being train.

believed there may be many unexploded bombs. they are looking for a 6' tall asian who might have wires sticking out of his coat.

Yes those guards carry live ammo, they're part of the Army over here, but their unit is elite. I'm sure if it kicked off though, they wouldn't think twice about dropping that silly hat and legging it after someone.

Not much news as of yet, or they're not releasing any new info.

Hopefully tomorrow will bring more details to us.

i figure that for now. but before 2001 did they even cary ammo in those older rifles? and i seem to remember seeing them wearing mordern military clothing and weapons on tv once. year or two ago. are they wearing modern clothing/weapons after 7/7?

news here said NO deaths. 1 person hurt. if i was a person on the subs, those guys wouldnt gotten off or escape. i would thought people would jump them. they show on a cellphone cam of smoke but the people still seating. news reporting 2 arrests but not sure if they where the bombers.

That's part of the reason I get a lil bit ashamed of these people. I mean sure, most are people going to work and many are businessmen/women but come on. If you see someone doing this kind of stuff, ACT!

All I'm saying is, if I had been on the tube and I was nearest to this guy there would be no way in hell he'd get away. I mean people would literally have to force me off of him to prevent me breaking his neck. I'd go total.

What also gets me is women screaming. Sure, it's scary. Sure you might think your life might end. But damn, have some modesty and self-respect for yourself. Screaming like a little schoolgirl is so over-dramatic. Try turning your fears into a positive and help others.

Rudeboy2025

Over here I was watching this guy on CNN who supports Bin Laden. I would just shot his ass right there and then. On the bomb, just 2 weeks after. Wouldn't the security have been increased a hundred fold?

you know the old saying. get two britains standing next to each other and others will get in line behind them. they love their lines.

oh that was one of the reason the first flight on 911 was able to hit the tower. when the terrorist click to tell the passengers we are in control etc they actually sent it over the air waves. the passengers never knew on that flight what was happening. the airline stewardest where trained to lie and keep the passengers calm. thats why the last flight that crash in penn had the passengers using cellphones to find out what was happenng. and they fought back.

so you would thinking on a second attack today that the people in the subs would reacted a bit better (i understand fear and screaming part)

I see what you're saying... I just get annoyed by such statements as this...

"Panicked and screaming commuters fled the three affected Underground stations, sometimes leaving behind their shoes"

Leaving your shoes behind?? My God. I understand at the time it might be scary and what not, but leaving your shoes behind! Panic at its very best <_>

  • A suspected suicide bomber has been shot by armed police in Stockwell, London.

More information to follow...

... And following on...

'SUICIDE BOMBER' SHOT

Police have killed a suspected suicide bomber at a Tube station in south London.

Armed officers opened fire on the suspect as he hurdled a ticket barrier and raced along a platform at Stockwell station.

Police screamed at passengers to evacuate and are thought to have shot the suspect as he stumbled on to a train.

Alarmed onlookers said they saw up to 10 plain-clothed officers chasing an Asian-looking man before opening fire.

Witness Mark Whitby was on the train as he saw a big man wearing a large coat and "looking absolutely petrified" lurch through the doors.

Admitting to being "totally distraught", he went on: "He half-tripped, was half-pushed to the floor.

"The policeman nearest to me had the black automatic pistol in his left hand, he held it down to the guy and unloaded five shots into him."

Unconfirmed reports suggest the man was involved in Thursday's assault on the capital.

If the suspect is proved to be a suicide bomber, it would mark the fifth attempted terrorist attack on London in less than a day.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We can confirm that just after 10am armed officers shot a male at Stockwell Underground station.

"A man was challenged by officers and subsequently shot. London Ambulance Service attended the scene. He was pronounced dead at the scene."

Police are believed to be under orders to shoot to kill if they believe someone is about to detonate a bomb.

Sky News Crime Correspondent Martin Brunt said: "The officer or officers involved in this clearly felt this suspect was about to detonate a bomb."

Three eyewitnesses were taken to a nearby veterinary surgery by police before being taken away for interview.

Tube services on the Northern Line have been suspended at the request of police but the Victoria is running again.

An earlier bomb threat targeting a mosque in east London has been given the all-clear by police.

in a world like today i just believe they could make a very sharp picture. i know too much america tv shows, 24 hours, csi, and your dang bond series. they got shit that they can scan the whole crowd in the super bowl and match them up with warrents. didnt the briitsh government make a computer server and law that require all encryption keys and back doors on software a few years ago? i dont know what happen to the program. no one like it. (pre 2001) we got freaken scanner software that checks if the paper being scan is a paper bill (money) from any coutry in the world.

edit. dang it think one word and type another :listen:

here is some information for you guys over there since the web sites can tell your internet region and block or censor what you see.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050723/ap_on_...DltBHNlYwM3MTY-

Heavily armed officers patrolled the British capital with clear instructions to stop suicide bombers — if necessary, with a shot to the head. The patrols were an unusual sight in London, where most officers, or bobbies, are normally seen with little more than a whistle and truncheon.

"If you are dealing with someone who might be a suicide bomber, if they remain conscious, they could trigger plastic explosives or whatever device is on them," said Mayor Ken Livingstone. "Therefore, overwhelmingly in these circumstances, it is going to be a shoot-to-kill policy."

The shooting took place about 10 a.m., when jittery commuters spotted a man, who witnesses said appeared to be a South Asian, wearing a padded coat in the Stockwell subway station in south London. Police chased him into a subway car, pinned him to the ground and shot him in the head and torso, an eyewitness said.

"The man who was shot was under police observation because he had emerged from a house that was itself under observation because it was linked to the investigation of yesterday's incidents," police said in a statement. "He was then followed by surveillance officers to the station. His clothing and his behavior at the station added to their suspicions."

"I've seen these police officers shouting, 'Get down, get down!', and I've seen this guy who appears to have a bomb belt and wires coming out," witness Anthony Larkin told the British Broadcasting Corp.

Another passenger on the train, Mark Whitby, said the man didn't appear to be carrying anything but that his coat looked padded.

above is some of the lines in the yahoo story.

my input. some of the tricks that these terrorist like doing is setting off one bomb and while police and emegency workers etc show up to do their job and help the victims they will set off a second bomb. you dont wear a thick coat in hot july after there has been multi attacks. duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. the pictures of the 4 latest attackers look mutli ethic. and since the bomb maker of the 4 backpacks suck in making a bomb im thinking this is another cell other there in great britain.
