Alternatively you can try to use this list, updated daily

http://john.bitsurge.net/public/biglist.p2p.gz

Using listdrop you should convert biglist.p2p to ipfilter.dat

HTH

What would happen if I didn't convert the file? It seems like qBit can parse the file just fine.

Probably no consequences if you're using qB but not everyone uses qB so they may encounter issues with import. Also, not everyone is using the same OS so that may pose problems as well.

I use ipfilter.dat years ago with Utorrent...

I'm on W10 now with Deluge as torrent client...

In plugins section , I've check blocklist and try to "import" it...but nothing append...

Anyone know a way to make it right with Deluge ??

Oops...my bad...

I've put it in a .gz and it's ok now !!

This solution might help, open 1809 with note pad and copy all in it, past it in 1807 and overwrite it, works here that way.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but it is now fixed...

It must be accidentally input some special  characters in the file.

I'm sorry guys but can anyone explain me or give me a link that explains the us of IP Filter ?

I'm using a tool that fills my hosts file with a list of unwanted connections taken from http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/

Is the aim of ip filter the same or way different ?

Cheers,

Kev00

IP Filter is intended for use with a torrent client (e.g. uTorrent, BitTorrent, qBittorent).

Using hosts file blocks any application on your computer from connecting to specific IP addresses.

So it can prevent from specific IP Address to share blocks with you (upload or download) ? Are those IP Addresses known from being malicious or are they governmental-like IP Addresses ?

Some would say the use of IP Filter useless but anything is better than nothing.

As far as I know the list does include AntiP2P organisations and other nasties.

Based on eMule Security

Bogon list - 03.05.19

Fake servers list - 03.05.19
Level 1 list - 03.05.19
Amazon list - 03.05.19
196355 filters loaded

Just curious how is this different from the release of eMule Security as I've tried checking this thru Notepad and they seem to be the same albeit some of the filters are merged.

Apart from Aggressive Optimize then saved as ipfilter.dat (for use with compatible torrent clients like µTorrent, BitTorrent, qBittorrent), it's essentially the same as guarding.p2p.
