This is a list of free programs i think are worth recommending.
I did not bother trying to rate or compare them (some i use more than others)
They are in no specific order and the formatting should be obvious.
Also i only listed programs that do NOT offer a paid version etc.
For example CCleaner has versions that cost money so i did not list it.
I tried to keep the overclocking and hardware tools to a minimum (there is too many)
The cpu arch in brackets is to state what version i use and if a 64bit version
is available there is *almost always a 32bit version available.
I want to see if I get any feedback before I think about doing a shareware version.
I think it would be a good way to give and receive some new ideas for programs.

Comments / contributions are welcome.. is there a must have free only program i missed ?

Firefox (x86) - http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/
- Web Browser.
My favorite free program of all. Grease monkey scripting has made the web better for me.

Chrome (x86) - http://www.google.com/chrome
- Web Browser.
I only use this *rarely for surfing non english sites (for autotranslate functionality)

uTorrent v2 (x86) - http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/7001277/uTorrent_v2.2.1.25302_-_DHT_Patched_CUE
- Torrent client. (with DHT patch)
Last v2 client before controversial major changes. Fast and no bloat !

xpMule (x64 only publicly) - http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/7290208/xpMule_%28eMule_Leecher_Mod%29_0.50a_64bit_Only
- P2P File sharing program.
ed2k / kad based client. Goal is to improve the GUI and add some features.

Notepad2 (x64) - http://www.flos-freeware.ch/notepad2.html
- Text Editor.
Simple yet has just the right amount of extras and fast.

TestDisk (x64) - http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk
- Hard Drive partition repair.
Very advanced and powerful GUI / console program.

Avidemux (x64) - http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/
- Video encoding.
Good GUI layout, filters, features and scripting. For example converting an .mkv video to an .avi video.

MKVextractGUI (x64) - http://sourceforge.net/projects/mkvextractgui-2/
- Video encoding.
Mkvtoolnix GUI for building mkv containers.

Process Explorer (x64) - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653
- Multi Program monitor.
Keep track on how your programs are acting.

Process Monitor (x64) - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx
- Advanced Program monitor.
Sort of like Process Explorer but focused on advanced tracking / logging.

Autoruns (x64) - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902
- Startup config & info.
Good tool to save you from keeping track of start up stuff manualy.

Hiren’s BootCD (DOS) - http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd
- Bootable freeware software collection.
Fix your computer.. I use this mostly for HDD related tools.

Spek (x64) - http://spek-project.org/
- Acoustic Spectrum Analyser.
Great simple tool to see visually your mp3's or flac's etc. Can be used to help identify music people trancoded from mp3 128 kbps to flac for example.

LAME (x64) http://lame.sourceforge.net/download.php
- Command line Mp3 encoder.
The standard for Mp3's (i use this in DBPowerAmp)

DivFix++ (x64) http://www.divfix.org/
- Avi video repair tool.
Great for rebuilding problematic avi containers (stuttering seek etc) Has fixed quickly many videos Avidemux or others have created poorly with out re-encoding.

Mp3tag (x86) - http://www.mp3tag.de/en/download.html
- Music file Tag editor.
Has more options than most but I still prefer Tag&Rename's GUI.

Infranview (x86) - http://www.irfanview.com/
- Image viewer and editor.
Has some handy features like fine grained rotation ability.

Bitpim (x86) - http://www.bitpim.org/
- Manage data on CDMA phones from LG, Samsung, Sanyo and others.
Good way to get file system access on many older phones.

Shark's Win 7 Codecs (x64) http://shark007.net/x64components1.html
- Codec / Filters collection installer.
Convienent package but lacks save / restore functionality. I like it for LAV + FFDShow usage with Win 7 WMC.

OllyDBG (x86) - http://www.ollydbg.de
- Assembler level analysing debugger.
Good tool for patching 32bit windows apps.

MediaInfo GUI (x64) - http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en/Download/Windows
- Media data info tool.
Stopped updating at v7.60 because of changes to default windows size.

Damn Nfo Viewer (x86) - google (last update = Sep 12th 2002)
- .diz / .nfo file viewer.
View your nfo's properly.. fast and has some good display options.

Great program and similar to many others available from Nirsoft.

7zip (x64) - http://www.7-zip.org/
- File archiver with a high compression ratio.
Good program for creating / extracting files but i still prefer Winrar.

CUETools (x64) - http://www.cuetools.net/wiki/CUETools/
- Lossless audio file format conversion.
Really good for cutting image single file flac albums into tracks and much more.

EAC (x86) - www.exactaudiocopy.de/
- Audio grabber for audio CDs.
Using the right downloaded flac image you can fool the accurip plugin into verifying your drive.

- Information tool for your video card and GPU.
Old and good tool for seeing key info on your gfx card.

Nvidia Inspector (x86) - http://www.techspot.com/downloads/5077-nvidia-inspector.html
- Driver config changes, monitoring, overclocking, Fan Speed adjustment + more.
Offers more control over the nvidia drivers than nvidia's control panel.

This handy tool can bypass security restrictions and read / edit offline registry data.

Resource Hacker (x86) - http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/
- Utility to view, modify, rename, add, delete and extract resources in 32bit & 64bit pe exe's.
Old and still great program for changing resources like icons and supports 64bit exe's unlike PeExplorer.

- GUI for the UPX packer program.
Makes using UPX way easier and supports tons of options as well as multiple versions of upx.
