Hi,

I'm just wondering, why is this program so much popular?

may be you didn't use it yet or you don't download often

I tried a lot of download managers but all failed with a bad FF integration, when there's one, and multipart download manager extensions use a lot of CPU.

But I see this one always got many comments so I'm wondering.

Definitely worth a try.

I've been using it for a few years with FF integration and no complaints to make, it works very well.

In some cases when there is a lot of content to be captured on the page by the extension, it may require more processing of course, but it is quite rare.

... I suppose that it exports also the registration info.

Registration data are located there:

Today I found that this prompt window is forced to pop up. Have you encountered the same situation? The patch uses The Hidden 2000

The same problem was reported as well:

I'm using firewall block via @sledge101's tool and so far haven't encountered any issues yet.

So, wait for @The Hidden 2000 to respond on that thread.

Anyone who has problems regarding any of listed patches, please reply in this dedicated thread instead:

According on the same thread at the moment, @The Hidden 2000's v21 patch only working up to v6.37 build 16, which also means the v21 patch did not support v6.38 build 1 (and possibly future builds of v6.38). Other patches are still working.

is there a tool to save the settings?

so I can import in a new fresh installation.

There is one IIRC, check IDM Backup Manager by Gajjar Tejas here.

IDM's "update log" is deceptive,
In fact, there is no program to correct and update,
All are for "anti-cracking" updates.

Don’t be fooled by the IDM “update log” to update,
It is best to choose a stable version to use.
