Shockingly, despite our best efforts to avoid  it all costs, including closing the border, it still made its way into Pakistan. Government is trying the best to avoid the nation-wide disaster. Reminds me of an alien virus from a Novel which would always finds it new victim despite all security measure taken to handle the victims. It would still always find a new victim even if the handlers were wearing the special suite to prevent transfer of the virus. Someone needs to come up with the cure asap. Otherwise in Country like ours, we are merely sitting  ducks with it come to fight this disease.

@randomjester Here is the novel(s). However the main theme of the novel is NOT the virus. It deals with alien and stuff. Kind of girly stuff here. I better warn you. Unfortunately, the series has been discontinued by the author. It has been years since any other book has been released in this series. So, you better know what to expect. Have a great day/ night.

There's debate on how to calculate the mortality rate.

Some say Deaths / Infections, others argue Deaths / (Deaths + Recoveries) is better.

Scary when you calculate the death rate using the latter at a little under 7.3% = 2,858 / (2,858 + 36,503) .

True.  The statistics, however, misses the human suffering that even a single death causes to the loved ones and the impact on their whole lives.  The suffering already caused by this disease is of such enormity that no words can describe it but the feelings are very palpable.  😢

[A note of appreciation: This forum has provided a valuable platform for keeping each other informed and it provides us a vehicle to vent our sad emotions as we helplessly watch what Mother Nature has sprung.  Very sobering.]
