Microsoft released Windows 10 build 19041.84 to the Slow ring on Patch Tuesday. The cumulative update was part of a servicing update to the version 2004 RTM build. Though the build was finalized back in December, it is being updated to add polish and iron out bugs before it is released to the larger audience.

Today, the firm is releasing the 20H1 build via Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) for organizations to be able to begin preparing for the release of Windows 10 version 2004. The firm published more information this week on how pre-release Windows 10 feature updates can be pushed to WSUS. For those that have already added Windows Pre-Release to their catalog on WSUS, build 19041.84 will replace the existing build.

The Windows Insider Docs page contains a list of all the features and security update information that has been announced in this release. The firm released ISOs of build 19041 yesterday, so those that would want to install the build on a VM for testing purposes can do so by downloading the ISOs from here.

As the version number suggests, Windows 10 version 2004 should be generally available sometime in April 2020. With the build being offered via WSUS, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it make it to the Release Preview ring sooner. As we get closer to general availability, the Media Creation Tool should also be updated with the ISOs for 20H1.
