do anyone know how to back up all settings of opera..

especially those speed dials pages/sites

There are two methods for this, up to you to choose.

1. Using Opera's sync service. It can sync Bookmarks, History, Settings, Passwords and Open tabs. All you have to do is create an Opera account (which is free), and then, after logging into the browser, choose what you want to sync. If you don't feel safe sending your data to Opera's servers, you can set a master passphrase to encrypt your data, so there's no way that they can decrypt it.

2. Manual back-up:

Spoiler
  • Settings: Since Chrome and Opera is built using Chromium, you can back up your profile folder to an external drive (like a pen drive). I'm not sure if this will work.

Don't know where is your profile folder? Go to "opera://about". You can find your profile path there. In my case, it is "C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera GX Stable". So, I should backup that folder called "Opera GX Stable".

  • Bookmarks: Open "opera://bookmarks", in the bottom left corner, there's a button to export/import bookmarks. Be aware that it will generate a file with all of your bookmarks in plain text.
  • Passwords: Go to "opera://flags/#PasswordImport", and on "Password Import", switch from whatever it is, to "Enabled", then reboot Opera. Next, go to "opera://settings/passwords", and in the three little dots on the right of "Saved passwords", you will have the option to export and import. That flag "Password Import" should be enabled whenever you want to import/export your passwords. Just like Bookmarks, it will create a file with all of your passwords in plain text.

Tip: If you have a lot of passwords, after importing, they won't appear right away.

Tip 2: For security reasons, after restoring your passwords and bookmarks, delete those files permanently.

i got it... this manual method

Speed Dial entries are stored with your bookmarks, so you can just back up your bookmarks by exporting them and Speed Dial entries will be backed up too. Goto the URL opera://bookmarks and use the import/export drop-down at the bottom-left of the page.

an html file with name bookmarks_2_25_20 ..saved

gotchaaaa
