Video DownloadHelper-like for chrome?

Hi,

I've been using the 'video downloadhelper' addon for firefox (and forks) for some time (v6.3.3, works sometimes, sometimes not) and was wondering:

- if the latest 7.xx version for chrome also require some payment in order to remove watermarks(?)

- if there is any better alternative for chrome-like browsers(?)

for sites that do not allow files to be downloaded but that still stream these files (!).

Thanks for any advice.

Why are  you using and addon why not just use software like a download manger or a front end for YouTube -dl  or just go to  invidious and download it from there?

https://github.com/omarroth/invidious

video downloadhelper always been a crap shoot  and needed cracked and it's not been cracked in years. The problem  with Addons to download 1080p or 4k   you need FFMPEG  to mux the files  together video downloadhelper charges to remove the watermark for use of there program when there many standalone software downloaders  that do it for free.

Google  ban YouTube extensions along time ago . There is a user script that  works  but you  have to use something too mux the audio and video together if you want 4k or 1080p. But its fine if just want 720p ,480p and below.

Because this addon is simply working fine most of the time on FF, just wondering for chrome and its forks.

AFAIK v7.xx requires to pay something to remove the watermarks, older versions (that I was using) till 6.3.3 do not need any crack and there is no watermark on the downloaded files.

Because of the bandwidth 720p is more than enough, no plan for 1080p or higher.

No there's no addon for chrome only user scripts  and the problem with user scripts  YouTube changed 720p now to adaptive streams  on some videos  so you have to mux them together ,  there no way to reach 720p x264  in Chrome or Firefox  any more  they changed there api  around only way  i can  watch  720p or 1080p in invidious now is with freetube app   , I'm able to grab the 720p x264 720p webm  and 1080p  with XDM  and JDownloader 2 from YouTube also these will download and mux  together  adaptive streams automatically . So your best best is using a download manger  . This is on Linux and I have FFMPEG  installed  it's no  trouble for me to mux the streams together but im lazy  .FYI  these are there new music videos  i tested that were like this.:lmao::chug:

mpv and vp9  has to be muxed with the audio with mkv merge  the only  mp4 with audio they give you to download  is 360p in your browser. But download managers work fine still.

Use Internet Download Manager (IDM), it works reliably with any browser and 99,9% of sites:

https://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/download.html

I've been using it for years.

Use this "Open Source IDM Trial Reset" to reset the trial period every 30 days:
