Microsoft axes Office 2019 from 'Home Use Program'

The company is moving away from perpetually-licensed Office 2019 and now offers annual subscriptions to Office 365 Personal and Office 365 Home for $69.99 and $48.99, respectively.

Presume users will keep for long their Microsoft Office 2019 - actually I hardly can think about how to improve it for about the 99.99% of users - or  move away from Microsoft Office toward some very good Office alikes, which are being improved with each version and even MS Office users (like me) are quite at ease using them. I don't have the least intention to pay a subscription fee.

I am curious when Windows is going to switch business away from prepetual licenses altogether. 100% sure that's in the pipelines. Sometime around 2023, when the Windows 8.1 era comes to an end, maybe?

I didn't expect Microsoft dump the perpetually-licens Office 2019 from its "Home Use Program" agreements with organizations that license the productivity software for the workplace.
