You can make Windows 10 volume control look better and these are the steps to follow

Windows 10 is often criticized for UI inconsistency and the outdated UI of volume control, of which the outdated volume control UI is perhaps a lot easier to address. Unfortunately, Microsoft never put that in their “To-Do List.”

While there is no information as to when Microsoft is going to start work on it and replace the outdated volume control with a modern one, a third-party developer took the pain and came up with a new program called AudioFlyout to replace the outdated UI. You can download the program from his GitHub page here.    [EDIT: Ignore the download instructions here... to get the executable, follow the instructions in my reply 2 posts down] Once you click on the link follow the below steps:

  1. Hit on Download and Clone and then click on Download ZIP

  1. Download and extract the AudioFlyout.zip archive from the link at the bottom of the article.
  2. Right-Click, with the mouse button, on the AudioFlyout.exe file and click on Run as administrator.
  3. If you require a User Account Control click Yes.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully replaced the old volume control UI.

Thank you for this post but there is no executable file to open.

Quite right, the article's download instructions are wrong. A commenter has added the following...

Go to the Releases

Then Download this file.
