The AchieVer Posted May 21, 2019 Share Posted May 21, 2019 Microsoft Releases Update KB3085534 to Fix OneNote 2016 Sync Bug Microsoft has been quite busy lately when it comes to updates, as the company shipped plenty of patches not only for Windows, but also for the Office productivity suite. After rolling out fixes for Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10, it’s now the turn of Office to gets its own updates, as Microsoft is now resolving a bug hitting OneNote 2016. KB3085534 is a new update published by Microsoft on May 20 to correct a problem in Office 2016 and causing the synchronization process in OneNote to fail. Microsoft explains the following in the official changelog: “This update fixes the following issue: Synchronizing a notebook from OneNote 2016 fails and you receive the following error message: We're sorry, something went wrong during sync. We'll try again later. (Error code: 0x803D0000).” Additionally, the same update also enables users to get the new Japanese era information, as per the official changelog.Manual download onlyVery important to know is that this update isn’t pushed to devices using any automatic update system, like Windows Update, but only offered as a manual download from the Microsoft Download Center. You can refer to the links at the end of the article to download the update for your version of Office. According to Microsoft, the following Microsoft Office 2016 editions are getting the update: Office Standard 2016 Office Professional Plus 2016 Office Professional 2016 Office Home and Student 2016 Office Home and Business 2016 Microsoft claims that in order to correct the OneNote sync issues, you also have to install two other updates, namely 4461441 and 4464552.
