Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is the next big release for the South Korean phone manufacturer, but the company is already planning in advance, so it recently picked the codename of the Galaxy S11 too.

Mobile tipster Ice Universe, who has a good track on scoops regarding the smartphone industry, says the Galaxy S11 is internally referred to as “Picasso,” a codename that aligns with the naming approach that Samsung has used for its most recent models.

Samsung Galaxy S8 was internally called Dream, while its successor was known as Star. Samsung then moved to Beyond for the Galaxy S10 lineup, and according to people familiar with the matter, the Galaxy Note 10 is codenamed Da Vinci.

The South Korean manufacturer wants to stick with this creative approach for the Galaxy S11 as well, albeit at this point it’s hard to tell if the naming is a reference to certain features or not.Debut in early 2020As per Samsung’s typical release schedule, the Galaxy S11 is expected to see daylight in the first quarter of 2020. The company will most likely launch the device in February, just ahead of the MWC show in Spain, while sales would officially kick off in March.

As for the upgrades coming to this model, it’s way too early to discuss them at this point, especially as Samsung has another major release in the meantime.

The Galaxy Note 10 is projected to go live in August with plenty of improvements, including camera cutouts like the ones on the Galaxy S10, as well as fingerprint sensors embedded into the screen. The S Pen will also receive a bunch of refinements, which more or less come in line with the creative upgrades suggested by the Da Vinci codename.

Expect further information to make the rounds on both the Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy S11 in the coming months.
