ADN
Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier. Google Chrome also uses a brand new javascript engine (V8), which is much faster than existing javascript interpreters. This means you can create more complex and more intensive AJAX applications with fewer speed and processing constraints. Finally, Google Chrome is built on top of Blink (WebKit fork), so Google Chrome users will benefit from the CSS3 features being added to Blink (WebKit fork) as those features are released. debebee
he means the offline installer is hardcoded the a certain version it was downloaded in.. it is obvious that the online installer will always fetch the latest version of Chrome online.. but if you do an offline install.. going to help about will trigger an incremental update to the latest version on the said channel.. Kalju
Google Chrome has many different installation and usage methods. As I have understand, most users use Google Chrome free version and usually .exe installer packages. Such a packages exist two - full packgage with updater (it is usually known as offline installer) and the other what is only compressed Chrome self-extracting packgage (usually known as offline installer without update feature). This installer, what has been called as online installer is in real life the updater installer. If it is installed, it detects Your computer structure and then installs automatically (it ask nothing from You) also Chrome in Your computer, also updates itself. If this is installed, it will regurarely check for updates (if You haven't blocked it's autostart). If there is some updates or newer version, it will be downloaded and installed automatically in background, also the previous will be deleted and updater itself updated. It works only if Google Chrome is installed correctly, ie it must be installed always in directory: if You have 64-bit OS %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Google\Chrome\Application and if You have 32-bit OS %ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome\Application If You uses also different Google Chrome versions/channels - for example Dev or Canary, then they will be installed to %LocalAppData%\... and they will not update automatically never. One very important thing to know is if You have currently installed Stable version, but You want to use for example Dev version, then usually there is no problems to install them to the same place, where currently is stable, but if You want later go back to stable version, You must at first uninstall higher version using Chrome own uninstaller and after that You can install stable. Also is important to know, that also the User Data needs usually to be deleted. May stay only Bookmarks, Favicons, Login Data and some unimportant things like Cookies, History. Finally. If you want to uninstall Google Chrome, don't use any other uninstaller, just Google Ghrome own installer/uninstaller. It doesn't matter if you downloaded Google Chrome online installer just today or a year ago - it will install the latest version always If you want to use an older version of Google Chrome, you must use an offline package that does not have an update feature, otherway You'll always get the latest available version. TheEmpathicEar
For some time now, multiple versions, Chrome has not been giving up the focus in Windows 10. i.e. I can ALT-TAB, or just click on an open program on the taskbar and Chrome remains the focus. It does not matter if Chrome is maximized or not. I have to minimize Chrome to change focus. The only way to change this is to close and reopen Chrome. Any ideas?
