Recommended Posts

I am trying to increase my WIFI signal to a near room where I have my Samsung tv to watch Netflix and Amazon videos. The signal is not strong enough to streaming the videos.

My question, if I the internet velocity is increase does the streaming may be better?

Increasing the velocity is my last option since it cost more.

Please let me know.

Slow broadband plan average 0.740mbps

router/modem provided by ISP.

Yes. Concrete column exist, even is open space around 20ft from router to extender and around 10 ft from the extender to the tv.

not possible wired ethernet

Just this morning found out that if I used my ATT hotspot (speed 2.14mbps)  from my Ipad, I can streaming Netflix and Amazon videos without issues so far.

My preliminary conclusion is that the speed has a heavy consideration.

I am in the right track?

as far as I know HD streaming needs at least 4 mbps

0.74 mbps won't do justice for tv streaming even at 480p

get a better broadband plan..  5 mpbs or better. 10 to 20 mbps you want hd.

Here are some recommended speeds for various streaming services.

WiFi coverage matter too. If WiFi is not sufficiently reaching your device, then I suggest you take a LAN wire from your router to your device - it's not much expensive to do that, if you device has support for it.
