Microsoft has just released a new version of Microsoft Launcher that comes with significant improvements, including redesigned widgets.

Microsoft Launcher 5.3 for Android is currently available as a beta, but all the tweaks that are part of this release should be included in the stable build as well. No ETA is available for this stable update, but it typically takes a few months for new features to be promoted from beta to stable.

The new version introduces a time and weather widget redesign. Users can choose from multiple versions and several versions, with one particular configuration displaying multiple locations and clocks.

“Now you can have multiple widgets in multiple sizes in multiple styles for multiple locations! Also check out the updated and more detailed L2 page with hourly and 10 day forecast,” the Microsoft Launcher development team announced.Refined fonts and news categoriesFurthermore, the application introduces a new font. Beginning with this version, Microsoft Launcher switches the font type from Segoe UI to Roboto.

There are also UX refinements to the home screen, the dock, and the search widget, while work profile customers can now get access to their work apps from within the launcher.

Microsoft has also updated the News tab with support for the technology category. For some reason, users who wanted to read the latest news in Microsoft Launcher couldn’t subscribe to technology articles because the category was missing completely from the list, so this update resolves this unexpected issue.

And last but not least, Microsoft has updated the Tasks card with support for My Day and Flagged Emails from Microsoft To Do.

Keep in mind that this new version is still a beta build for now, so certain bugs and issues could still be experienced. You can download Microsoft Launcher beta from Softpedia using this link.

I'm using it for a month now (also as a "Beta tester") and I love it!

Simple, fast & beautiful, with many useful tweaks.

Recommended to anyone!
