Microsoft Releases Windows 10 19H1 Build 18361, RTM Expected Any Minute Now

Microsoft has released a new preview build for Windows insiders in the Fast ring as the company is getting closer to finalizing the Windows 10 19H1 RTM build.

Windows 10 build 18361 comes with only small changes, and this isn’t surprising by any means given that the RTM version is just around the corner.

There are two different fixes, according to the official changelog. First of all, Microsoft says it has resolved a bug preventing certain VMs from being able to install or update Windows preview builds, with users experiencing a black screen freeze with a Windows logo on the center.

Additionally, the software giant reveals that it resolved a BitLocker problem in Windows 10 preview builds, as some insiders received prompts to encrypt some drivers, only for the process to then fail to complete.Fewer known issuesThe number of known issues is also being reduced, and this new build comes with just 4 such bugs. All of them are embedded in the box after the jump, but worth highlighting is a problem hitting Microsoft Store apps, which can no longer get updates automatically on new builds. Microsoft says users need to fire up the Store and manually check for and install updates.

There are also glitches that have been there since previous builds, including fatal crashes experienced when launching games with anti-cheat software. The company is still working on a fix in this regard, but for the time being, no workaround is available, which is a little bit worrying given that Microsoft is projected to complete the work on Windows 10 version 1903 this month.

While the RTM build should be signed off in the coming days, the public rollout of Windows 10 April 2019 Update is scheduled to begin in April to production devices across the world.
