Microsoft has released a new handful of themes for Windows 10, and users can download them right now from the Microsoft Store.

The new themes are called Pi DayAn African Safari, and Smiling Creatures, and obviously come with a free license, which means that you can install them at no cost on any Windows 10 device.

As usual, it’s important to keep in mind that these themes don’t bring any other changes to your Windows 10 system, but only wallpapers that you can set as desktop backgrounds.

After installing them from the Microsoft Store, you need to head over to Settings > Personalization > Themes to enable them. Given they come with a large collection of wallpapers, you can switch to a new background straight from the context menu on the desktop.Windows 10 themesMicrosoft is betting big on these themes for Windows 10, as they provide users with an easy way to personalize the desktop with HD wallpapers.

The company no longer publishes fully-featured themes as on Windows 7, which brought other changes like sounds and custom mouse cursors, but only packs of wallpapers for the desktop.

At the same time, Microsoft is also working on refreshing the Windows 10 desktop with new visual modes. After rolling out a dark theme, Microsoft is preparing to roll out a light mode that will be part of the next Windows 10 feature update coming in April.

Likely to launch as Windows 10 April 2019 Update, this new release will be finalized this month and users can try it out already by becoming a part of the Windows Insider program. In addition to the light theme, the new feature update also includes other tweaks, like an evolution of Fluent Design, with acrylic now part of more parts of the UI across Windows 10.
