Have you tried WhatsApp messaging?  It is a free messaging app.  I use it to send messages to my cousin in Austria and there is no cost for me to send messages if I am on a WiFi network.  It isn't identical to text messaging through the native iPhone Messages app but it is similar.  And WhatsApp also has the functionality to make voice or video calls.  You can check out WhatsApp in the App Store and here is a link to the website for WhatsApp in case you want to learn more about it: https://www.whatsapp.com/.

well there is a load of messaging apps for iOS. WhatsApp, Viber, Snapchat, Telegram and what is the wrong with iMessage?

But i prefer the modified versions of these apps apart from theiMessage because there is not modified version to it yet. But you have to have a jailbroken device for that.

If you dont like the sound of jailbreaking you can try something like https://www.cydiacloud.com for download cydia.

But make sure it do not reliable and original jailbreak. Anyhow it let you download Modified versions of Messaging apps.
