Vivaldi 2.3 Now Available for Download with Several New Features 

The first update of the year for Vivaldi browser has just been published online, bringing several new features to all supported desktop platforms – a mobile version isn’t yet available, but the parent company says it’s already working on one.

First and foremost, Vivaldi 2.3 introduces what is being called auto stacking for the Tab Stack feature.

The browser comes with a feature that allows you to group several pages under the same tab, which comes in handy to those who are browsing lots of websites at the same time.

And beginning with this update, Vivaldi can automatically add a new page to the Tab Stack when opening a link from the active tab. This feature needs to be enabled manually from the Settings screen.Screenshot and address bar improvementsFurthermore, Vivaldi 2.3 pushes its address field capabilities even further by adding frequently visited pages. In the previous versions, the address bar could be used for all kinds of data, including bookmarks, history, previously-typed keywords, and things like that.

Starting with this version, Vivaldi can also show frequently visited pages, and once again, the feature needs to be enabled from settings before using it.

“In Vivaldi, you can decide what you want to see in this drop-down – you can mix and match what types of results are shown to fit your workflow and unique setup,” the Vivaldi team explains.

The third major improvement in this release concerns screenshots. Vivaldi now lets users configure a custom name for their screenshots taken with the built-in Capture tool. The name can be customized with a series of parameters such as timestamp and host.
