Which File Explorer(ROOT) do you use?

Recommended Posts

I've been having trouble finding the right file explorer with root access. Please suggest and way to download(if premium)...

What do you think about FX file explorer?

Mixplorer & CX file explorer are quite good. I tried a lot but found these two the best. Both of them are free.

The famous one you guys are mentioning long sold the product to a bad company who is busy spamming ads to users. It has lost all the trust it had gained years ago.

Now this is among the best around. Has all the features and I have personally spoken to the developer, is a good person too.

It's not trustable after it was sold. Infact, all the major sites do not anymore recommend it.

I would not touch ES File Explorer. I used it for ages and would have agreed it was one of the best, until it went bad. It caused a number of issues for me, like mentioned here:

https://www.androidpit.com/this-is-why-you-should-not-use-es-file-explorer

I don't care if the pro version doesn't have adds. I don't trust the developer in the slightest and wouldn't give them a penny.

Thanks @DKT27 I too didn't like ES, it's bloated with ads and the reddit link you gave made me realise you can't trust a company which does smthng like this at the cost of user experience. (Just like you can't trust FB anymore)

I'm Gonna try Mixplorer....

Tried Mixplorer Silver, good for an internal file manager..

But my needs go beyond one android device...

I need a File manager that seemlessly moves files across my LAN, has OTG device support, Cloud Storage support (main sites) and FTP.. Also I need an APP that has a facility to do APP APK backups and an internal FTP server to share it's own files..

This is why ES File Explorer Pro still works for me

BTW you have to pay extra to use the VLC codecs if you want to view videos inside mixplorer

The official pro version is updated though.

Another reason not to use it the versions after it was sold. Do visit the link mentioned though. It has some evidence with video.

Here is an whole topic with debate on it.

I personally prefer the free version though. Has almost all the features I require. The pro version was released recently I think.

I can easily do that in it. I have one tab open for my FTP, one for my phone and another for my Google drive. I can copy/paste files from one to another without any problems. It also has it's own internal FTP and HTTP and TCP server. Just search for it.

I have not required any extra codecs to view videos inside it. The extra codecs is only for non-basic files it cannot support on it.
