Hi,

My laptop locks up at least once a day in which I have to hard boot it in order to get it working again.
I installed the the OS 2 weeks ago and updated all the drivers. The same OS was installed previously. I have a wireless
mouse installed on it it and before that a wired one. It happens with both. Any ideas on what could coz this? If you need
more info, plz feel free to ask.

thx

This issue pertains to AMD graphic drivers .

You need to clean install the AMD drivers again , for that follow the steps mentioned below:

To perform a 'clean install' of AMD graphics drivers:

1. Download and save the correct AMD driver. Do not use "automatically detect and install". Download Drivers

2. Download and save DDU https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

3. Disable All anti-virus/anti-malware/anti-anything

4. Delete the contents of the C:/AMD folder of all previous drivers

Once the driver is uninstalled using DDU , the system shall reboot.

After , reboot , re-install the correct drivers downloaded

You're probably using AMD driver mean for a different spec..

uninstall your curret radeon driver and look for th PROPER DRIVER on the site...

Make sure it matches the card OS and bit *32 or 64*

It’s advisable not to install generic drivers, instead go to your system providers  site I.e  your computer manufacturer and download the drivers from there.

Look for porcessors with graphics

AMD A Series

A10

then choose your specific model...

eg. A10-7400p

and NOPE A driver for R7 R8 R9 wont work for you because hey are for newer hardware...

Installing those will cause your system to have what you are experiencing..

you APU is something like this: https://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-R6-Kaveri.117382.0.html

It is still happening but asus said to run it over the old ones without deleting anything.

Event Id 1000 denotes app crashing , however event id 10016 is not an issue.

In reliability monitor, can you tell the name of faulty application.

Press Windows Key + R to open Run dialog.

When Run dialog opens,

enter perfmon /rel

and press Enter or click OK.

Windows 10 error ID 10016 has been around since at least Windows 8.

It is flagged when an application tries to start the DCOM server when it doesn’t have the permission to do so.

This event should not bother you and will not effect the usability of windows , however,  the error can clog up Event Viewer with hundreds of instances.

You usually only see error 10016 on a computer upgraded to Windows 10 and not on clean installs. It seems to be an inherited setting that the installer doesn’t overwrite.

@bergy1964

One or more applications are conflicting with either each other or windows, that’s why consistently your system is crashing.

The image uploaded by you is not clear.

Just click on the first error, it will open the details, copy and paste here.

The problem seems to be with AMD drivers.

Provide the status update on AMD drivers.

I d/l drivers from asus website as you suggested and installed after uninstalling previous drivers with that tool. PC locked up again so I did what Teodz suggested for drivers. That exact driver actually.

Did you download the correct drivers?

The computer manufacturer will provide you the drivers suitable for your specific model and specifications.

To isolate the issue, you can try clean boot - disabling AMD and see if it locks up again.
