Users complaining of issues with version 1809

Microsoft has re-launched Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) earlier this week, but despite the company was supposed to refine the experience with this release, it looks like several bugs have been left unfixed.

One of them is a potential issue eventually breaking down the audio on certain systems, with users reporting that the typical workarounds, which involve updating and re-installing drivers, make no difference.

J.D. Haltigan confirmed for us that the “new” version of Windows 10 version 1809 doesn’t fix the bug impacting Realtek drivers, and according to more users who posted on Reddit, the issue seems to be hitting more than a handful of systems.

Oddly enough, there are also reports of other audio issues, like distorted sound, and for the time being, it’s believed the whole thing is still caused by driver compatibility problems.

Bluetooth issues

I first reported about an audio issue in Windows 10 version 1809 back in October when several users who upgraded to the new release complained of broken sound. At that point, the culprit was said to be a faulty Intel driver, which was later fixed with a new update released by Intel itself.

By the looks of things, systems with Realtek chips may experience other issues after the upgrade to Windows 10 version 1809. Our reader Amit Rao says he experiences dropping Wi-Fi signal, and the one to blame in this case is likely the Bluetooth driver.

“Most of the issues are with HP pc having realtek chips. I am also facing wifi signal drop every 5 seconds and after lots of research I figure out that is was Bluetooth that is causing the problem turned off and on again will solve the problem,” he said.

At first glance, Microsoft still has a lot of work to do to refine the experience with Windows 10 version 1809, and while the upgrade seems to go a little smoother now, the number of bugs hitting systems is still unacceptable after nearly one month of silence.

it's an HP bug, due HP provide outdated Realtek audio drivers, better download the more recent audio driver directly from Realtek website, and problema solved.
