New NVIDIA drivers are now available for download

NVIDIA has released new GeForce drivers that include full support for Windows 10 version 1809 (October 2018 Update), which Microsoft re-published a few hours ago.

The new drivers are version 416.94 and bring support for Fallout 76, Hitman 2, and Battlefield V, so if you’re a gamer who wants to play these new titles, it’s mandatory to update as soon as possible.

Exclusively available for 64-bit operating systems, the newly-released graphics drivers are fully compatible with Windows 10 October 2018 Update.

Support for version 1809 was added in the main Release 415, and now that the new OS feature update is available once again for users worldwide, getting the new drivers is also recommended.

Known issues in this driver update

What’s important to know, however, is that these new drivers also come with multiple known issues on Windows 10, including several that could impact game performance.

For example, when playing Hitman 2 on a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, the game screen may turn black after launching it in case Windows HR is enabled.

Furthermore, there are glitches that may be encountered without actually playing a game. NVIDIA says the activity on the desktop may experience a lag when a GeForce GTX 780 is being used, while Firefox users might see a brief corruption when hovering on certain links within the browser.

There are also issues that aren’t caused by the NVIDIA drivers, but which may be related to the update to the latest version.

“Under Windows 10, clone mode across graphics processors is handled by the Windows OS, and not by the NVIDIA driver. Consequently, there are no controls for cross-adapter clone mode in the NVIDIA Control Panel under Windows 10,” NVIDIA explains.
