can we have a BB code list please?

With this forum software we lost for example the IMG button with the result, that we have to use BB code. Another lost function is the preview and that's the reason for my question. Some days ago I wanted to embed a video but all known BB codes did not work and I had to edit the post.

Could we have a list of working BB codes for this forum soft?

There is no BBcode, that is ancient history. As far as I am aware the only source code you can edit or use in the current version of this forum is html. So if you click the source button you should be able to see and edit the source code for your post.

that's why [ img ]  [ /img ]works with images? And if I look at the source the [ img ] is not translated to <img ....

Images and videos are automatically embedded after you paste the link to the editor

In addition to what ARMOUR posted, for Users of Imgur, all the requisite BB Codes pertaining to posting the image selected, appears on the right-hand-side — check out this post for the illustration.

@teodz1984

normal I use that reference http://forum.vbulletin-germany.com/misc.php?do=bbcode but the problem is that some forum software uses modified codes and that was the reason for my request. Normal you can find the modified codes in the support area of the forum software.

Most of the popular bbcode tags will work but the editor converts bbcode to html and only the html code is stored and there is no process for converting back to bbcode to allow editing. I'm not saying it's not possible but rather this is the direction that IPS has decided to go and newer versions of the forum software do not include a bbcode editor. I don't have any answers as to why they have chosen to go this way but they are a company so it probably has to do with making money somehow.

If any of the bbcode tags are not parsing correctly it could simply be that there is a bug with the current version of the forum software, in which case the best place to ask is probably the Invision Community forums.

For videos, most of the popular video websites are natively supported so you just have to paste the url of the video and it should embed automatically, no need for an extra button. But really I think the bbcode thing is a losing battle because IPS management have systematically diminished its presence with every new version of the forum software.

Even images are embedded automatically when pasting direct links and pressing enter.

Also, the confusion arrives whether and how it works in IPB due to how IPB developers have handled it. Simply put, if I remember correctly, in the initial release of IPB 4.0 disabled the support for it - or at least it was not working at that time, going by personal experience. Later basic ones started working again as I guess they fixed / enabled them again.

Whatever you can do with them, there are a lot of buttons for it.
