I always set my security software to prompt me upon detection. I would rather review the detected risk and take manual action, rather than let the app automatically quarantine or remove the item. I do not recommend doing this if you are not an advanced user who knows what they are doing. But if you are installing a program and going to crack it or if it is a repack, it's best to pause your security software first so it doesn't interfere with installation.
