Opera has announced that its new Opera Touch browser, that launched on Android back in April, will be arriving on iPhone on October 1. In addition, those who are eager to get the browser now can request to join the beta programme.

Opera Touch is quite different from other mobile browsers for a few reasons. Upon launching the browser, search is put front and centre so you can get to work right away without having to find the URL bar to type your query. It also features the Fast Action Button which gives you access to search, recent tabs, and browser controls with one hand. Lastly, it syncs seamlessly with the desktop browser after linking with a QR code, from there, you can send all sorts of content from one Opera installation to the other.

Since launching Opera Touch on Android, its radical design departure from other browsers on mobile has been recognised by an awards body. In an e-mail, Opera said:

“Opera Touch is a completely new browser that challenges current, more traditional web browsers. The first version was released earlier this year on Android. In August 2018, Opera Touch won the Red Dot Communication Design Award for its unique user interface.”

In addition, the browser maker said that if you keep an eye on its social media profiles, there will be an opportunity to win an iPhone Xs.

If you’re interested in grabbing Opera Touch for iPhone early, be sure to subscribe to become a beta tester as soon as possible because it is a limited offer according to the firm.
