"Michael decided to put his family and his country first."

They should ALWAYS  have been first!!!!! He should get an award for bare-faced cheek.

And over 100,000 dollars raised in one day for his "legal costs". It just goes to show that you can fool a lot of people enough of the time!!???

What is going on?

Cohen, who has been Mr Trump's personal lawyer for more than a decade, has pleaded guilty to eight criminal charges, including tax evasion, bank fraud and campaign finance violations.

He said he had paid hush money to two women who alleged they had affairs with Mr Trump, at the direction of "the candidate" - a clear reference to Mr Trump.

Cohen said the payment was made for the "principal purpose of influencing [the 2016] election".

Cohen has reached a plea deal with prosecutors, which may see his prison sentence reduced from 65 years to five years and three months.

I don't really have a horse in this race. However, I just can't see how anyone can trust anything this guy has to say. First off, he obviously had no problem lying, cheating and doing whatever else for Trump while it suited him, and he admitted as much. At that point in time, he placed neither his family nor his country anywhere on his list of priorities. Coming clean now, or whatever it is he's doing, means next to nothing - if he was willing to lie, cheat and do all those unscrupulous things once, well, why wouldn't he pin as much of the blame on Trump as possible? If true, he did those things for Trump's money, and clearly not because of any personal admiration, as evidenced by his current attitude.

So far, the only thing we've established beyond any doubt is that the man is a hack and a mercenary, willing to push (innocent) people under the bus, all for a man he (now) despises, and for years. It's clear that the justice department currently has the highest bid on the table. Even if Trump were completely innocent, such a man would obviously have no problem sacrificing him for a better plea deal. The fact that there are desperate and deluded people willing to waste their money to somehow defend a man who willfully lied, stole, and did who knows what else to possibly manipulate an election that has been impacting the globe for the past few years is the saddest thing about the whole situation.
