Google Earth puts a planet's worth of imagery and other geographic information right on your desktop. Fly anywhere on Earth to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings, the ocean and even galaxies in outer space. View exotic locales like Maui and Paris, as well as points of interest such as local restaurants, hospitals, and schools. Google Earth combines satellite imagery, maps, and the power of Google Search to put the world's geographic information at your fingertips. With Google Earth you can fly from space to your neighborhood--just type in an address and zoom right in, search for schools, parks, restaurants, and hotels. Get driving directions, tilt and rotate the view to see 3D terrain and buildings, explore rich geographical content, save and share your searches and favorites and even add your own annotations.

Thanks to ADN for the update.

I bought a completely new computer a few days back and re-installed all my programs....except Google Earth which is refusing to start. I get the opening logo screen then an error message saying Unsupported graphics card and other times the message says Google may have closed badly or crashed....it didn't even start!! I have spent hours Googling (oh the irony!!!) before I decide to ask for help here. I have installed and uninstalled the newest version and several older versions, I even tried the portable versions on this page by snf and Baltagy....same result.

I have cleaned out any hidden Google Earth files and cleaned with CCleaner and rebooted multiple times. I visited Google Earth's official help pages and lots of people are having the same problem, Google's repair tool gives some options like clear out cache, change from Direct X to OpenGL. I deleted some hidden folders ("unified_cache_leveldb_leveldb2") as per the Goggle help page's instructions,I have tried  but still the same result. It just simply refuses to launch. I had Google Earth on my last computer and never had a problem like this.

I'm on Win 7 x86, I have Direct X 11, 4GB memory, my graphics card is obviously recent/new and I believe it should be capable of running Google Earth, but as I said I can't get even an old version to run. I'm going to bed now and will probably toss and turn in my sleep about this!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.???
