anuraag Posted March 19, 2018 Share Posted March 19, 2018 Microsoft Windows have already built-in default, free and powerful firewalls, but unfortunately, they lack a simple interface to define own simple rules and can be difficult sometimes to configure them the right way. Windows Firewall Control is a nifty little application which extends the functionality of the Windows Firewall and provides quick access to the most frequent options of Windows Firewall. It runs in the system tray and allows user to control the native firewall easily without having to waste time by navigating to the specific part of the firewall. Windows Firewall Control offers four filtering modes which can be switched with just a mouse click. WFC is free to use, registered users will get the advantage of learning mode which provides notifications for outgoing blocked connections. If it only lost the activation use a keygen and activate again. I use a purchased version and I remember that I had that problem often (maybe wrong selection in R Wipe and Clean). Existing users of Windows Firewall Control can use it like they have before. Malwarebytes will integrate the solution in its security products but fails to mention if the functionality will be offered to Enterprise or business customers exclusively, or it the firewall control options will land in consumer products such as Malwarebytes as well. It is unclear at this point if Windows Firewall Control will cease to exist as a standalone product, or if Malwarebytes will continue to offer it as part of the company's portfolio. Also unclear is how Malwarebytes plans to handle Pro customers. It would be unfortunate in my opinion if Windows Firewall Control would be retired by the company. Malwarebytes made two other acquisitions of note in the past two years. It acquired Junkware Removal Toolback in 2015 and AdwCleaner in 2016. The company since then has discontinued the Junkware Removal Tool, two years after its acquisition.
