The previous AMD graphics driver arrived just in time for Final Fantasy XV's PC launch, adding support for the Square Enix title. And now a week later, AMD has released the second driver update for March, Radeon 18.3.2, bringing further optimizations for the RPG.

According to the driver development team, Final Fantasy XV will perform up to 4% faster on RX Vega 64 graphics cards with the new driver, compared to 18.3.1. Meanwhile, RX 580 8GB graphics cards owners can expect to see an FPS increase of up to 7% in the game when using the new software.

Although AMD only mentions a couple of its graphics cards, the FPS boost should apply in some form to the entire GCN line-up.

The driver also brings along a fix for particle effect induced stutters in Final Fantasy XV, and lastly, here are the known issues:

Quote
  • A random system hang may be experienced after extended periods of use on system configurations using 12 GPU's for compute workloads.
  • Destiny 2™ may experience an application hang in the mission "Heist" on some Radeon GCN1.0 products.
  • Destiny 2™ may experience long load times when the application has been open for extended periods of time.
  • Radeon Overlay may intermittently fail to enable when toggled in some games.
  • FFmpeg application may experience corrupted output for H264 video streams.
  • Resizing Radeon Settings may cause the window to intermittently stutter.

The Radeon Software Adrenaline Edition 18.3.2 driver can now be downloaded through the Radeon Settings interface or via the links listed in the official release notes.
