It is not known, because they changed the activation and license management system.
Previously, it was so, that when the file was pre-activated and there was not registration key in reg file, was not possible update, the activation was lost.

If is installed and there is new expiration date, then is possible, but if there is only word "Registered" and nothing more, not possible.
