straycat19 Posted October 29, 2016 Share Posted October 29, 2016 The easiest thing to do, at least temporarily, in order to get your updates is to rename the hosts file to hosts.bak and copy the following into notepad and save it as hosts. You could then run updates and if you desired you could rename this hosts.org (for original) and remove the extension from hosts.bak in order to use its blocking again. # Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names.
