What year was streaming music introduced?

Think before revealing the answer.

Spoiler

1901

Yes 1901.

Thaddeus Cahill, in New York, developed the telharmonium, where a person would call on their phone and subscribe to steaming music through their phone.  Because it used phone lines and the technology was just developing, the phone company lines were overloaded and the service was forced to cease.  Cahill died in 1934.  But the telharmonium, a 200 ton machine, became, when redesigned in 1935, the Hammond Organ.
