It's absolutely fine. You will never get full memory as a portion is always reserved for the hardware(s). This is completely fine. Nothing to worry about. I have zenfone 5 2GB. But it shows 1.9GB.

@rudrax

@kantry123

Thanks for the quick reply

never owned a phone with more than 1GB before

Did you ever notice how much it showed in your 1GB device before? Certainly, it won't show you whole 1GB but a little less of 1GB.

Nah, it is scientific . . . . . . . . more than luck — detection of full memory depends on Windows architecture, nativity of discrete graphics, motherboard capacity for overall RAM, configurations & settings, etc., etc. ;)

This is about useable ram though :)

It is about detectable memory (as highlighted on the quote) - the usable part is debatable. ;)

@rahulgi

How about the battery? Does it drains fast on slight usage, I mean no games just FB, SMS and Emails?

I am planning to buy a Zenfone 2, that's why I ask :)

Thanks.

Hi ney2x

The battery backup is horrible

wifi and w-app, 1% drain every 2-3 minutes

with 3G 1% drain in 5 minutes

fast charing is there, but charging 4-5 times is a pain

I have disabled every thing from startup

still battery drains pretty fast

for gaming, plug your charger and play, otherwise last under 40-50 min

I think intel has a part in it, atom never been battery friendly

if planning to buy, go for low power processor, Hd model

and stay away from high end

And on ultra controlled, no background app configuration, just few calls, 20-30 min chatting, it barely lasts 7 hours

There is no scope to enjoy the 4GB, without worrying battery

if the battery backup were decent, it would have been a dream phablet

so sad

Copy the wonderful experience shared by rahulgi.

When shopping for a Smartphone, most of the devices do ship with the battery-drain issue - my personal preference is to buy a handset with a removable battery so that I can carry pre-charged batteries along, on my site visits.

While considering the Zenfone, there is a cause for concern of a different nature - rudrax would like to share this concern with you, when he logs-in, here. It is a buying choice that is more crucial than the batter-drain and something which most folks seems to miss when hunting for a new Smartphone. ;)

@dcs18

always buy a battery removable phone

I have to carry a heavy portable charger while traveling

@dcs / @rahulgi

I have a Lenovo A5000 right now, rooted and with the help of Greenify, battery last for 40-45 hours on heavy usage. The problem is the memory only 1gb, if it has only remaining 100-150mb, then its lagging :(

Anyways, thanks for your inputs, I better wait and search for some reviews on which is the best phone for $300 category :)
