No https options in the video shown. also it seems to mimic adgaurd following "block security threats" option.

why ad removing software needs malicious site blocking is beyond me. there are secuirty suites to take care for that.

Didn't notice any https options in the video?

From their blog

We're aiming for this, but it will require installing a new root certificate locally. Still need to figure out exactly what portion of people will be willing to do this, and we need to tread very carefully to avoid security concerns.

I can't think of anybody who installs ad removing software not wanting filtration on "https" websites. that's a very lame response from AM team considering their rivals have already https filter and are receiving pretty good response .

He's abandoning admuncher. Thats all there is to it. He's lost money the last 2 years and now its free....nope admuncher will soon go bye bye.

This just confirms that Ad Muncher development stopped long time ago. It´s a classic ABANDONWARE and MURRAY finally got balls to admit that. For those who still dream with a "version 5", forget it... Going freeware is not a gentle act, but a certificate of programming stopping. And a selfish one I must say, cause the best shot would be release the code and go for opensource. That would make Ad Muncher alive again and ready for the current days. Not this so-called software they want to be from now on: an undead piece of junk frozen in time. At least MURRAY got ashamed and will not take people´s money based on a lie anymore (v5).

And just one more thing:

Ad Muncher, you'll never make me rich, and I've made a net loss running you for the last two years, but I just don't care.

Seriously Murray?.... You say you have "financial support for over 100k people", so your business is good as everyone can see. And then development just stops with a 6 year hoax version 5 and now free from night to day? Would not be better to say you got enough money from these 100k people and just deciced to end the life of an already dead software cause you have a new life project in mind or simple don´t give a fuck and want to do other things from now on?

Hmm, i wonder just how many of the whiners and negative posters on page 1 especially will install v5 when its available

Honestly never seen such ridiculous posts as on page 1

Ad Muncher was and is the best app of its type, and as i actually PAID for it for years, all the lame ass whiners on here who whined about it and yet still pirated it, youre welcome, my money helped make it free.

I think murrayhurps.com has been hacked or something. Maybe I'm giving 'em too much credit and it's not worth hacking, but here he was yesterday, saying how hard he's worked on this project for 6 years, not just on the Windows version, but also for Android, iOS etc. and suddenly out of nowhere he says it's free? WTF! Something's just not adding up! :o

Also, the official product website still has a working "Buy Now" link and this mythical "Free" Ad Muncher is nowhere to be found for download. Maybe it's a code jock's idea of a joke or something, but I don't know what the heck to believe now. Oh well. It was good while it lasted. ;)

I do believe however, that if he had been able to bring out Android and iOS versions at ~$4.99 for lifetime single device licenses, he'd have made millions for sure. :)

Lastly, it has to be said, that love him or loath him, the reality is, the product was stellar in it's heydays, until IE11 became it's nemesis and also, https started becoming more common place. Too bad Mr. Hurps that you're bailing. We'll always remember the hungry, somewhat goofy but ever-smiling cow fondly.

I paid £86 for a lifetime licence, a year ago, should receive my monies back if he is going to offer it for free.

He has broken a contract with me.

This happened to me before with mail washer pro, I paid for a lifetime licence, then a few years down the line they did not honour it, they said, blah-blah-blah about from the bottom up

blah-blah-blah to improve it.

I get the feeling this d00d will then start on another ad-muncher program us mugz will then have to pay for.

I purchased a lifetime license for 2 other products that revoked their lifetime license and went to an annual license. I complained that it was a breach of contract to revoke lifetime licenses but they did so anyway. So, I will never purchase another "lifetime" license.

According to Murray, they are expecting the free version to be online by the end of July at the absolute latest.

I presume from this and the fact that Ad Muncher version v5 isn't ready for release yet, it will be their current version v4 there are making free for now?
