Small question : Is it possible to stay on an infinite trial version with this trick ?

The firewall method does not activate your IDM with a Trial Reset - on the contrary, your copy stays registered and as if genuine.

Big Thx dcs18!! You made my day. (and it's my birthday today) so what else?

I don't know how long I was looking for how to deal with the ":443" warning. So thx all of you guys for the IP adresses.

I used Kaspersky to do that.

This thread is now bookmarked.

Cheers.

@kantry123 maybe I can help you. Go to "Settings > Protection Center > Firewall > Configure Application Rules"

Now search for IDM (on top right), Right clic 1st option (details and rules) on "(ICON) Internet Download Manager (IDM). Rules network and then add.

Set Action as Block, Adress from list and paste the 20 IPs from first page (IP,IP,IP,IP, etc). That's it.

Glad to hear that. If the staff allows it, I can provide some links or detail here the full process. But I'm not doing anything without the staf's agreement.

You have to use a keygen (not patch) in this regard. You will find that in FrontPage under IDM download section.

You took the miniatures. :\ If you click on mines you can see the full size.

More readable even if it's in French. ^^

Just Now A Thought Came To My Mind :

Although I Don't Understand French But Going By MyIDM's Screenshots It Looks Like He Only Created The Block Rule :dunno:

Which In Turn Made Me To Think What Really Is The Role Of The Allow Rule ???

Leading firewalls such as Kaspersky, COMODO, etc., etc. are so accommodating that they can be configured for exceptions (in block / allow) within a single rule, itself.

Firewalls such as Windows Firewall / Control were previously required to have 2 different rules created (for block / allow) - that is no longer required with WFC version 4.1.0.0 (I had already updated the first post with this little bit of info.)

If you check out the changelog of WFC version 4.1.0.0, you will find a new merge feature. ;)

If you check out the changelog of WFC version 4.1.0.0, you will find a new merge feature. ;)

WFC 4.1.0.0 - without the allow rules added, we are going to face the following phenomenon:

One can use any firewall however, Users of Windows Firewall / Control (prior to version 4.1.0.0,) need to create 2 rules (1 Block rule + 1 Allow rule) for IDM as per the following illustrations:

No, successor to 4.1.0.0 also needs to create two rules because without the allow rule in place in WFC, IDM won't access the network.

(20th June 2014) Thanks to rudrax (Third Eye):

Caution Note added to main post (above) for those who desire to be able to download from the IDM homepage.

Revoke the credit. Those 19 IPs can't prevent IDM from dialing home. Got fake serial pop up today with one IP missing in the firewall. So, gotta need all those 20 IPs to be blocked.
