Trying out the following 2 different AntiVirus solutions on 2 different systems:

  • Kaspersky, and
  • Windows Defender

Try Kaspersky Endpoint Seurity its is great in terms of security and low on resources

I always prefer Endpoint if keys are available.

I've got AdGuard and (uBlock + uMatrix) on my system — the (uBlock + uMatrix) combination is awesome . . . . . however, I find AdGuard superior in every aspect (those who disagree might want to try blocking IDM and other such pests from calling home with any other ad-blocker.)

Would suggest having just one ad-blocker operating on your system, at a time.

Ok Sir, I'll purge all other ad blockers

At that price one could build a nice little core i3 system.

IKR ! But IDK why the price of DDR2 is so high now, probably just to mess with me : (

SSD is the best way to go — however before making the purchase, you might want to confirm whether the SSD port is compatible with the one on your system. The good point about an SSD is that one can always transfer it to a new system (laptop/desktop) when disposing-off the old system.

The pricing of an SSD makes financial sense and also returns maximum bang for the bucks.

Port ?  Well, I'll buy a cheap reasonable one, which most probably is with SATA port. ( PS: its all just hypothetical ! I'm not going to buy anything as I'm still broke ;p  )

btw: I already have one SSD (750evo120GB) in my T410.

And  Sir, can you please direct me to the guides for process lasso and yamisoft win 7 manager ?

For my web control needs, I disable the Web Access module completely and rely heavily on my ad-blocker (AdGuard) which delivers far more granular control — if Web Access on the AntiVirus is left enabled, it conflicts between 2 different heavyweight security programs, both . . . . . vying with each other to block the same threat/s.

It's all about economies of scale the DDR3/DDR3L are the ones which are in mass production — in future, when consumers start migrating to DDR4, even the presently cheap DDR3/DDR3L will grow costlier.

I currently have EEAV by @coua on 1 PC and EAV by tnod on another PC, If I turn off "Live grid" "HIPS" or any other option in them, its dashboard turns fugly red and its notification area icon gets a fugly "" mark on it ! is there any way to fix it ?

Right-click your ESET Endpoint Antivirus (EEA) icon at the SysTray Notification Area >> Advanced setup >> USER INTERFACE >> STATUSES (Application statuses) (Edit) >> GENERAL >> (disable both of the following):—

  • ESET LiveGrid® is disabled
  • ESET LiveGrid® is not accessible

Click OK and then again OK — let us know how it goes.

Adguard - Block Ads Without Root is now v2.12.187 Beta

WHAT'S NEW

Transitioning to a new filtering engine rarely goes smoothly, and we too faced quite a few problems. That was somewhat expected, so there was no need to panic — rather, a need to do a lot of work. Which we did! The CoreLibs themselves underwent an update to a new version; we fixed several crashes and network-related issues along the way, and even extended our tasker API. Now it’s your turn! Help us find more stuff to fix!

[Added] Extended Tasker API: proxy settings
Hopefully, you’ve already had a chance to test the new tasker API. This beta will give you something new to play with: proxy settings. Two new actions become available: proxy_state and proxy_default. The first one enables/disables the outbound proxy, the latter sets any of the previously configured proxies as default. More detailed description of these actions is in our KB article.

Networking
[Changed] If configured, outbound proxy must be used even if ad blocking is disabled for an app [Fixed] AdGuard does not use the fallback DNS server when the primary server times out
[Fixed] Protection doesn't restart when changing mode of HTTPS filtering

UI
[Added] Bulk change option for “HTTPS filtering” preference
[Changed] Hide export option when User filter is empty
[Fixed] "I agree with Terms" button is not visible if scale is enlarged in Android settings
[Fixed] The toggle button icon missing from the notification drawer on Huawei P10 Premium

Other
[Added] An option to reset HTTPS filtering's whitelist or blacklist to default
[Added] Hindi [hi-IN] localization
[Changed] Remove comments from HTTPS white/black list for CL configuration
[Changed] Start using ProcessHealthStats instead of scanning proc-stat for calculating AdGuard's own battery usage
[Fixed] The app hangs when press cancel button in bulk change setting of apps management
[Fixed] HTTPS whitelist entries can't be deleted if there is a request in search box
[Fixed] HTTPS whitelist entries not saving
[Fixed] Importing a backup from the stable version breaks DNS settings
[Fixed] Compatibility issues

It's getting redirected to post # 15 — it's a forum bug.

You can compare the 2 links on your post with the actual one — all 3 are exactly the same.

Some years back, there was a popular demand for a Process Lasso tutorial and so,I agreed to create one — however, one particular member kept trolling the tutorial even as it was in progress.

Consequently, we decided that a Process Lasso tutorial shall never be created.

However, wouldn't mind giving you a friendly hint — some of us here, use Process Lasso Pro as an exclusive anti-Executable, thereby promoting it to an extremely high status (a critical front-line link in the security chain.) Just leave the rest of the features on default.

Clue:—

Options >> Configure disallowed processes ...
