Some updates about pi hole: Since about a week, my pi hole runs in a system Raspberry PI ( model 3B + ). I ordered one, how I said earlier. For the moment, I use Raspbian Stretch with it. Before to buy the raspberry system, I used Ubuntu Server 18.04 in VM with Pi hole. Everything worked good. Tried with Ubuntu Server and on raspberry, but that image has not been updated for the latest model. However, I changed the bootcode, and other required files, the system boots, but the network failed to reach the local settings. Also, I tried with Fedora Server for ARM64: Lots of headaches because it has activated by default SELinux, and you need to define lots of rules or to disable this security feature of that distro. The biggest advantage of Fedora is that it uses almost the latest linux kernel, instead of Raspbian which uses an older version (v4.14 right now) Also, an important advantage is that it is pure 64 bit system for arm compared with standard Raspbian that is only for 32-bit in official version. The worst thing with Fedora is that it has lots of processes loaded in memory that will conduct the increasing of the system temperature with about 3, 4 celsius degrees compared with Raspbian. I will see later what OS I will choose for it, when all will be available in stable releases. The Dashboard looks like below, right now: I set up a schedule reboot everyday, at 3 o'clock in /etc/crontab : ? Also, I have installed webmin: looks good, it has lots of options....with it will avoid the writing by lots of commands into the terminal...? Tried also the speed: Anyhow, we agreed the DNS queries will not influence the the performance of the network. This is my result, it looks quite good for the mid of the day: That's all for now: I will share my further experiences if there will be any considerable updates.
