Hello vhick,

Firstly, ensure that your IDM is marked among your Filtered Apps in AdGuard, as follows (illustration is for x64-bit Windows — please use your AdGuard Browse menu to point to the correct path of IDMan.exe):—

Then, remove your existing IDM entries from AdGuard and just copy the following rules (thanks to Undertaker,) into your User Filter:—

Next, you'll have to re-install the original IDM installer (as of typing this post — the latest is 6.30 Build 10.)

Use Registry Trash Keys Finder (thanks to Undertaker, again) to delete all the keys found by RTKF.

When you run IDM, you'll encounter the same error window — click OK

You'll be prompted to enter your registration details — use any KeyGen (not patch) to generate your custom activation details.

Most of the time, you're done by now . . . . . . sometimes though, the prompt reappears once or twice — just re-fill the registration details until it shuts-ups.

Hi Guys,

Please help me, new format pc and newly installed IDM. I used Adguard domain and ip blocking and IDM ALL IN ONE 2018 version 1.8.0.8 patch. But I'm always getting this one..

<snip>

The process I described above this quote is a one-time procedure — you'll never need a patch . . . . . . again.

Once your copy of IDM is pimped by AdGuard — you never have to keep fixing your IDM at every new release. RlW5CMh.gif

@dcs18

Thank you so much for the fix. Seems IDM is quite now. I will monitor it if still popup in the next couple of days.

I think the original adguard tutorial for IDM needs to update?

Thank you once again specially @Undertaker

@Undertaker

Hey Bro,

I renounced to Debian pure and I made a new installation with Raspbian.

Just to get used to it more, because in about 2-3 weeks I will migrate the whole system into raspberry pi 3b+ system.

Now the new dashboard looks in this way:

Sometimes I have some issues with it: the graph is not updating properly. I read there is a bug into this version, lots of guys have troubles with that.

Tried several fixes, the only one which works for me is to rename the file pihole-FTL.db and then to recreate it automatically in repair mode: " pihole -r ".

Even if the graph is not updated, the system itself works fine.

kf5qyO7.png

It eats a little more memory, but I do not have troubles with that:

PTjT3w5.png

I am used to play with it via remote desktop in Windows:

bPBFV4r.png

I will make new updates, if there will be any....

Greetings,

Hello IamBidyuT

I do not have a presence on Faecesbook and therefore have never had the occasion to create my usual custom filters/rules for that site — sorry about that. :(

Oh yeah, that looks bad — was looking forward to this issue but was denied the opportunity

Can you try whether the following works for you:—

  • Ensure that the 3 AdGuard executables Adguard.exe, Adguard.Tools.exe and AdguardSvc.exe are excluded completely from being audited and scanned by each and every module of your security system.

  • AdGuard starts complaining when you subscribe to excessive number filters — however, have found that too many rules are what really hogs resources.

  • Better to use the AdGuard program exclusively — without the Firefox add-on.

Thanks for invitation, Bro !

Maybe I will do it someday, for the moment I am a little caught with some things, as you can see above....:P
More than that, I made a visit there:

I saw some nice people there, but, unfortunately them trusted here into some propaganda which raised the idea that I am a bad guy, and I do not have a good reputation....I want to bother none, so for this reason I had some hesitations when we have talked in the past...

A little technical question about Zorin OS: Do you know if it is compatible with ARM processors?

Take Care, Man! ;)

I thinks the scanning of my av, after excluding, cpu usage is back to normal, and an occasional minimal spikes.

Thanks for the help once again @dcs18

IDM can bypass this firewall.

If this is about your new home — we've already had that conversation.

Since Windows Firewall Control (WFC) is merely a front-end — the actual firewall, Windows Firewall is the one which is supposed to possess those 2 capabilities.

Unfortunately, Windows Firewall does not . . . . . . . moreover, there's a third capability which Windows Firewall lacks — domain blocking.

Fortunately (for me,) I'm running AdGuard (for my general blocking) and Simple DNSCrypt (for my internet packet encryption) — these 2 apps. fulfill the following 3 inadequacies of Windows Firewall:—

  • ARP spoofing,
  • Cache poisoning, and
  • Domain blocking

Let's hope that in due course of time Microsoft fortifies Windows Firewall with the above 3 (missing) capabilities. :)

I'm just trying to make him a favor... Whatever... I won't bother you anymore...

One doesn't need to join any group to solve the Internet Download Manager (IDM) issue — you can just ask the author to introduce the following 2 capabilities:—

  • anti-ARP spoofing, and
  • anti-Cache poisoning
