If we did lose someone I guess we won't find out for quite sometime. I don't know anybody here who was from New Orleans. Katrina barely missed my state. Thank God. Although the gas prices are fucking soaring.

May I ask why?  ;)

dang i thought no one was ever going to reply.

i think he means they are still cheaper still then europe.

even in many 3rd world nations the gas is very high.

our problem is easy to fix. regulate the oil future market. and build at least 20 refineries and update the old ones.

oh, you said the storm barely miss your state. Fl? or Tx? if Fl what county? i got a house i rent out in pensacola. about all fix up from ivan finally. just got to remove the freaken tree pines debri on the fnece line and replace fence one of these days.

Becuase you guys complain about gas prices reaching ~$3/gallon, yet thats about half of what we pay in the UK..... and many other places pay more than what we pay here.... Netherlands comes to mind.

Maybe instead of these 3 litre engines in the small cars you should cut down to using a more effective smaller engine. I remember nsane saying his car has such a big engine (3.4 liter if i remember correctly) and its not the biggest car in the world (no idea what is was), but here it would only prolly have a max of a 1.8 liter engine. I'm sure the BHP (and "Pull") on them would be very similar, if not the the 1.8 liter being more effective... But thats something for the manufactorers to consider. I remember once when i went to the US a few years back, we hired a car (Buick LeSabre, i think), if i remember correctly it has a 3.8 liter engine, my dad said our car, i think we had a BMW 3 Series then, 1.8 liter engine was considerably more powerful.

Also, doesn't old george have a stash set aside for a "rainy day"? (i remember hereing about him putting millions of barrels aside) Shouldn't he be releasing this?

:( This made me remember about a report I saw on TV about the 'historical gas prices' or something like that.

this is a change of topic a bit...i find it amazing that it took so long to get aid to that area... and did anyone notice all the people left behind were the poor without means of transport. Also has anyone wondered why absolutly nothing was in place to be sending aid emediatly and why it took a week for the aid to begin to arrive...someone some where really dropped the ball here.

kentucky where im at $2.99 a gallon or around $0.75 a liter. federal and state tax is $0.36 which is part of the $2.99. one has to understand that the usa people need suvs for the bad weather we have. try driving in the rain and snow without 4x4 or all wheel.

edit

(reviewed many times. i believe its clean enough for posting. if not just edit or delete. thank you)

because the city and state drop the ball big time. can you image if the storm actually had hit New Orleans?

its a welfare city. they brought in the buses before the storm hit. but the people didnt go get on the bus. then they be shooting and attacking the cops that are trying to help protect them. frankly them. people have bent over backwards to help them and they dont care. lets remove the old and children and hang the rest of the looters and other criminals and rapist. night time they should be having military choppers flying around with thermal sights on and shooting the criminials with 50 cal. fire the mayor and frankly fire the governor. democrats fails big time. now they are trying to blame bush. no, they are the only ones to blame for this mess. almost all of the 20% people that stay could walk easy to safety before and after the storm. no one has a hand radio or cd player with radio on it? these has got to be the most unprepared people in the world. fine example of welfare people of socialism.

fine example on the newspaper yesterday the miltiary was trying to land a chooper to unload food and water. the ( ) people rush underneath and so the chopper had to throw the food and bottle water 20+ feet to the ground. do you think any of the bottle water made it?

bush needs to take the national guard from the governor and federalism them so they can get orders to finally shoot the criminals. the us military there cant police because of that one stupid federal law pass long time ago by democrats. (thats why we cant protect our borders) us military doing a good job now that they are in charge of saving the people. each of these centers need to have a military recuiter center and do special waviers to put the young male adults into service for 1-2 year contract so they can be getting paid to help their families. that would greatly help the people that have been displaced. because if they do it like most fema setups they will be there for 5 plus years in other states on welfare. it would be cheaper and better to put them into the service.

I've no complaints about using large vehicles where needed. Its the size of the engine and the amount of oil they use. I'm sure US SUV's will have huge engines. (4liter+ jobbies), when a more ecomical 2.8 liter will prolly do a good enough job.

Theres no need for SUV's in cities. Rain is no excuse to drive a large vehicle (and yes i've seen bad rain - indian monsoon - doesnt come down much heavier than that). Snow, i'll agree with you that a 4x4 is nice to have, but we don't get endless amounts of snow in many places do we?

As a quick comparison for a litre of gas is £0.92 (~$1.70) here. I'm sure theres places higher than that around.

My local forecourt is charging £0.97. I don't drive yet but I reckon by the time I do, it's going to cost me so much I'll need two jobs or something.

im pretty sure bush isnt a faggot. isnt that a cigerate in UK? allowing the oil reserve is to stop the fear of oil shortage on the oil future market. problem still in refineries. the usa needs 20 new ones and all the others be allowed to update themselves. plus getting rid of the 42 different fuel blens.

oh dmog if what you said was correct i hope they go after those natives. isnt that area of canada run by the natives?

whats sad about europe is that most of the liter cost is tax. beacuse of that no one over there goes for better larger cars. that also is made that way to keep out jap and american cars to protect european car companies. those little cars just are not safe. some of them are nothing more then a grass cutting lawnmore engine. remember the east german cars that invaded west germany when the wall came down?

Also, with this gas crisis, many Gas stations have increased the price at their own will. I saw it on the news, people complaning the some gas stations were putting ther own prices (very high ones). Bush promised to help.....but I don't really believe it.

Abosolute bullshit! A big car is no safer than a small one thats well manufactored! Japanesse cars have a large presence in europe. US cars never sell simply because there not the thing europeans want. Japanesse cars have reletivly small engines.

Why is a large car "better"? Apart from the fact they are known to kill more people....

Also if everyones car had a decent sized engine oil reserves would last much longer as feul would be used much less.

yes lite i agree...the rest of you need to think before you speak. by the way all you bush haters...if you really do not like your president instead of name calling , put some time and effort into not allowing polititions like him to get ellected. It would not take long for the two parties in your country to see what the people really expect and leave the idiots like Bush out of the picture when they picked their respective leaders. in other words get politcally active, your 1 single vote DOES make a difference when you ALL use it. Please don't take this as an insult...it is not meant as one...even the people who are to young to vote have a voice and you are listened to if have something inteligent to say as they know someday soon you will be able to vote.... cae in point... canada... our previous primeminister was a joke who got reelected as primeminister for over 4 terms as priminister because the other main political party could not come with viable alternative for over 14 years....as a result our leader was by far a bigger fool than Bush will ever be. By the way up here in canada we basically elect a king (or better yet a dictator) every four years as each party member in the house of commons HAS to vote the way their leaders tell them to. Not to meantion the fact that our senate is not elected but appointed by the primeminister and has always been a rubber stamp for whatever government is in power.

Big cars are more dangerous to ppl than normal cars,Might be safer. But the fact remains that small cars are more effecient,Faster,More stable, safer, enviormentally friendlier.CUVs are better offroaders,Capacity.Which means If you live in a city with paved roads you don't need them unless you have a family of 10 or just to big to fit in normal cars.....
