Hello,

This topic is based on "How to track a teenaged hacker"

I found this on the BBC News website.

It came of great interest to mine, And was quite funny when he knew how to deface/Ddos a site but on other forums he didn't know how to change his IP or Mac address.

Personally I think changing your IP is the most easiest thing you can do with a PC.

Apart from turning it on

Anyway here is the video:

Please comment on what you think.

- Ash

Real hackers dedicate their lives to hacking and even don't tell their friend they hack.

If you leave these stupid traces you are giving them an invite to your home...

hey Ash, 2 facts you seem oblivious to:

1) You can't change your IP. You either need it reset from your ISP (or reconnect if dynamic connection) or use a proxy.

2) You can't change your MAC address. It's assigned to your NIC so the only way to "change" it is to swap out your network card. The other alternative is to spoof your IP address, which does not change it, it only tricks Windows into seeing a false one.

Someone as ill-informed as you on basic computer facts shouldn't be finding anyone else's lack of knowledge humorous.

Consider changing your name to AshTheLamer :P

What the hell?!

If you want to hide your IP address, just use an Elite proxy or buy a service that offers tunneling.

I was talking to a guy (not online) the other day. His job is to gather evidence on child porn sickos for the government. What he said that they just leave their computers on at night so he signs on remotely, clones their hdd and they never know until they are caught. I asked about firewalls and stuff, he said they just bypass them. One is not any better than any other. I am all for going after those guys (I wish they would give me a few addresses so I could take care of them myself).

Its disappointing that getting full access to someones computer is that easy though.

But I bet they would have a lot of trouble with guys who uses tunnel connections, and best yet if those connections are encrypted :pirate:
