Installed Nod32 and the fix as per instructions. The virus database got updated correctly

but the application shows it is valid only for 30 days, which then makes it only a trial version!

Has anyone got a different experience with this download?

Grateful for any help.

Thanks and regards

The fix should and probably will show 30/31 days all the time, so it will be valid forever.

Hi Shought!

You're right! :)

The day before yesterday, Nod32 showed there was 30 days left

and today it shows 31 days left for expiry! Amazing fix!!

Thanks for your help!

I'm using version 3.0.650.0 and have no issues. Is it worth it updating?

After a few days of using Nod32, I checked the expiry and

am surprised to see it standing at 24 days as of today!!

I guess the fix is not working after all!

Should I remove Nod32 and re-install it again or run just the fix alone?

As always, any help is deeply appreciated.

Thanks!

The fix on the fp isn't the latest, it will be updated very soon.

Edit: When it shows Marsufix25 you can be sure it is updated :D Then you just have to uninstall Marsufix 2.3, which you are using I guess, uninstall EAV, install EAV, install Marsufix 2.5.

Thanks for the reply, Shought!

I am under the impression that each fix is for a particular version of Nod32.

Meaning, you install a new version, then a new fix would be necessary.

But in this instance, the fix was already in place. for version 3.0.669

I haven't installed a newer version of Nod32.

So am puzzled why a new fix is necessary!

Anyways, will wait for the new fix. Thanks again!

New fix has already been uploaded, you can dl it from the frontpage. A new fix might not be needed for your OS, but might be needed for another. So the previous might for instance work on XP 32 bit but not on 64 bit, or not on Vista. That's why there is a new fix, the fix should, in the future, keep on working for every new version available I guess. There's also some changes that don't have anything to do with Eset, but with the way the fix is implemented and stuff.

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry, Shought!

Marasu's new 2.5v fix doesn't seem to work.

My trial period is now down to 22 days and the virus database doesn't update anymore.

Am I doing something wrong? - All I do is download and install the application, and then run the fix.

As always, any help is deeply appreciated.

Thanks!

Check the NOD32 fix thread(the big one) for an update(Marsufix 2.6) uninstall fix, uninstall NOD32, delete all Eset files, run registry cleaner, install NOD32, reboot, install fix, reboot.

Could you please tell me where this thread is?

I searched the forum using " Nod32 marsufix 2.6" and different

combinations of these words, but all I get is an error!

Thanks for your help

Thanks, Shought!

Downloaded the latest Marsu's 2.6 fix from Mediafire's website.

Uninstalled the earlier fix and Nod32 application from my PC.

Installed Nod32 again, choosing to update parameters later and rebooted.

Ran the fix (there were two .exe files in the folder so ran both of them) and rebooted once again.

The protection status does not show any expiry dates but the virus signature database is old - 3192(20080616)

When I try to update, I get a failed error message.

Anything else that needs to be done?

Like for example add another server to the update server dialog box?

I've tried three of Marsu's fixes so far and am at my wits end!! ;)

Please help

Very weird indeed, please send a PM to marsupilami stating this and asking him what to do ;) If anyone knows, it's him :P

As suggested, I have sent a message to Marsu.

Will let you know of developments, if any ;)

Thanks, Shought!

Hi Shought!

Haven't heard from Marsupilami, but from the link you provided me, I learn that his v 2.6 fix

has some problems and that he has now come out with v 2.7.

Anyway, tired of waiting for a solution, I downloaded a torrent for nod32 and installed it

successfully after some teething problems.

For those interested, here is the link for the torrent:
