Zeus_Hunt
As if the just released Call of Duty 4 and TimeShift demos weren’t enough, here’s something else to occupy your time during the weekend: the PC demo for Midway and Epic Games’ Unreal Tournament 3 is out. You will be able to get a taste of the highly anticipated first-person shooter ahead of its November release on the PC, which is to be followed by PS3 and Xbox 360 versions “early” next year. The demo includes three different “Deathmatch” and “Vehicle Capture the Flag” maps, all playable locally against bots or online against human opponents. The upcoming release of Unreal Tournament 3 has been eagerly anticipated by many. The engine itself has been a subject of hot debate, with Epic having recently been sued over it. Now that the game is nearing release, many have been wondering what exactly they'll need to run the game. Some have feared it will be one of the dreaded “DX10/Vista Only” titles that are bound to show up eventually, but that is not the case here. According to Midway, the actual official system requirements are a lot more lightweight than you'd expect. As far as RAM, CPU and GPU go, even run of the mill hardware meets the minimum requirements of 512MB, 2GHz and a GeForce 6200 / Radeon 9600. Even their “Recommended” requirements aren't far out there, with Midway suggesting a 2.4GHz CPU and a gig of RAM. The GPU gets a considerable boost in that context, with them suggesting a 7800 GTX or x1300 card or better. However, even those specs were common in hardware over a year ago. This bodes well for the game itself, as well as other games based on the UE3 engine. At the very least, it looks like many Unreal fans will not have to upgrade just to play UT3.HomePageDownload Page
