Avast Pro Antivirus 5.0 is for people and companies that want a customized computer security package. Antivirus and internet protection components in Avast Pro Antivirus are built for easy integration with existing firewalls in users' home or work computers. Pro Antivirus has two major additions to the core protection elements in Avast Free Antivirus: the Script Engine and the Sandbox.

I am tempted to test this now that we have a working serial ... anybody tell me if this can be compared to nod32 with regard to detection rate and memory usage?

Though I prefer NOD32, suggest you try it (perhaps it may suit you.)

did some readings about avast 5 reviews ... I think I'll stay w/ nod32 ... but I might give this a go on VM just for testing.

Believe me guys. This is great. A must try. ;)

I'm using free version. Cause I know, if I go for full version now, in few days when I'll use Windows 7, the serial would be blacklisted, so I would be disappointed.

Free version is quite sufficient IMO. You can just use another app for firewall and you're good to go. The only thing I would like to see them change is the IM scanner, it should be more intrusive and boldfaced like Norton and automatically configure your IM clients, lol. I still had to manually go into Live Messenger settings and set avast as the file scanner, which is lame, I mean come on the everyday person won't want to be bothered with those things.
