The AchieVer
Microsoft Launches Microsoft To-Do App for Mac Microsoft has released a Mac version of Microsoft To-Do, as the company moves a step closer to retiring Wunderlist once and for all. Microsoft To-Do, which is now available in the Mac Store, is obviously offered free of charge and comes with nearly the same features as its siblings on other platforms, albeit it still misses a few notable options. For example, you can obviously sync tasks from one device to another and attach files, but on the other hand, dark theme doesn’t seem to be available in this first release of Microsoft To-Do for Mac. This new app allows you to attach files up to 25MB to any task and sync information between Outlook and To-Do. The sync also works with Windows, Android, and iOS clients when the same account is used.Native experienceThe Mac client is built entirely in AppKit, so it offers a native experience to Apple users. Microsoft says it’s also working on Planner integration, but this is a feature that’s yet to be finalized, so more information on it is expected in the coming updates. “If you’ve already been using our app on Android, iOS, Windows, or web, then the Mac app will feel very familiar. Sign in and all your tasks will be waiting for you, ready to be checked off. You can work offline, add tasks to My Day, see your flagged email in your Flagged email list, and share your lists with colleagues or friends and family. The Planner integration isn’t available yet, but we’re already working on bringing the Assigned to Me list to you,” Polly Davidson from the Microsoft To-Do team says. Wunderlist, which was acquired in 2015 with the purpose of a gradual integration in Microsoft To-Do, continues to be available as a standalone app, albeit it’s all just a matter of time until it goes dark.
