zoran
The performance degradation caused by the Specter and Meltdown patches will almost completely disappear with the next Windows 10 update! Immediately after the discovery of Specter and Meltdown deficits in Intel processors , companies were trying to offer their repairs quickly. The patches, however, caused PCs to run as high as 18 percent . In some cases, the slowdown could reach 30 percent. While some companies experienced serious performance losses on their servers, Google's cloud systems were hardly affected by the work of an engineer. In order to reduce the effects of Paul Turner , Specter and Meltdown from Google , he developed an alternative solution, which he called Retpoline, which didn't cause any loss of performance. Microsoft now wants to use the same solution in its operating system. This solution will be added to the operating system with the next function update of Windows 10 (code name 19H1). Yes, we have enabled us to call a server in a new environment. Combined, they reduce the impact of Specter v2. https://t.co/cplyeryv9k - Mehmet Iyigun (@mamyun) This is October 18, 2018 Mehmet İyigün , of Windows Kernel , says this change will dramatically improve performance due to previous repairs. According to İyigün, Retpoline-based repairs are considered " at the parasite level ". source
Karlston
So Google's solved the problem. Now it's just up to Microsoft to f*ck up the update and make things worse... Dear Microsoft... it's the bug-infested updates stupid!
