MrZeb Posted October 21, 2018 Share Posted October 21, 2018 Hi, Its a 6 gen Intel processor so it should work with Windows 7 but you will have to hunt for the drivers because HP only provide them for Windows 10... To install Windows 7 its simpler to change the BIOS/UEFI configuration and put Secure Boot disabled and set the UEFI mode do CSM. When installing Windows 7 vanilla DVD using a flash drive make sure you use the USB2 port to boot from because the USB3 ports will fail. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Do hit me up if you need more information on the process as my laptop was also Win 10 pre-installed, and the Asus websites only have drivers for win 10, but i managed to reformat to win7. Togijak Posted November 22, 2018 Author Share Posted November 22, 2018 Some of those who replied had misunderstood me, because my friend did not intend to install the Windows 7 over the Win 10 because it was clear that only a reinstallation was possible. The problem with this computer was that shortly after booting from the Win 7 USB Stick an error message came that a required USB 3 driver was missing. After a long search, he had found the driver with which he managed to install Windows 7 while 10 was still on the computer. The result of that way was, that Win 7 was installed on partition D which was supposed to be a data partition, so it was way too big for a system partition. After spending several days working with the Win 7, he was very pleased. His only problem was the partition chaos and I suggested that I could integrate the driver into the ISO so he could repeat the installation which would give him the option to delete the partitions during installation and then re-create them in the desired size. After that I integrated this 3 drivers iusb3hcs.inf iusb3hub.inf iusb3xhc.inf using NTLite into a copy of my working Win 7 ISO . From this ISO a USB stick was created with Rufus. If he boots from this stick, there is no longer an error message that the USB driver is missing, but the installation remains stuck at about this point and I'm afraid that I forgot something to integrate.
