After Microsoft pulled the October 2018 Update from public rollout due to a data deletion bug, the company has now slowly started flighting the update back by first testing it within the Insider Program to check for any other bugs. Also included this time around was the Release Preview ring, which Microsoft had entirely skipped over, initially.

Today, the company is releasing another cumulative update (KB4464455) - following that released on Patch Tuesday last week - to Slow and Release Preview ring Insiders on the Windows 10 October 2018 Update. It brings the build number up to 17763.104. The update adds no new features, as expected, and only contains a list of fixes and optimisations:

  • We have fixed the issue where the incorrect details were being shown in Task Manager under the “Processes” tab.
  • We fixed an issue where in certain cases IME would not work in the first process of a Microsoft Edge user session.
  • We fixed an issue where in some cases applications would become unresponsive after resuming from Connected Standby.
  • We fixed several issues causing application compatibility problems with 3rd-party antivirus and virtualization products.
  • We fixed several issues with driver compatibility.

Of note here is the fact that Microsoft has finally fixed the bug in Task Manager which we reported on after the release of the October 2018 Update. It has also made some much-needed progress in fixing driver compatibility issues, considering the initial release was plagued by issues pertaining to audio and other drivers.

Those, who do not risk, cannot not drink champagne and a rabbit do not play cards.
So, these 199MB is now installed. What will happen, don't know. However still works.

I used UUP dump (found in another thread on nsane) and selected Feature update to Windows 10, version 1809 (17763.104) (update ID: 8dc49d07-2c0e-4d51-a3a7-8383a54cb09f).  I thought I was downloading and installing 17763.104.  However this seemed to install 17763.1 which then updated to 17763.55.

Completely confused now.

non-insiders eager to have it before gdr or to simply f**k around with v1809, can download KB4464455 for instance via:
