According to rumors compiled by Wccftech, the card, which is to be based on Nvidia's next-gen Turing architecture with a 12nm FinFET die shrink, and will reportedly sport the following numbers, in direct comparison with its predecessor, the currently sold GTX 1080:

  GTX 1080 GTX 1180
Architecture Pascal Turing
Lithography 16nm FinFET 12nm FinFET
GPU GP104 GT104
Die Size 314mm² ~400mm²
CUDA Cores 2560 3584
TMUs 160 224
ROPs 64 64
Core Clock 1607 MHz ~1600 MHz
Boost Clock 1733 MHz ~1800 MHz
Peak FP32 Performance 8.9 Teraflops 13 Teraflops
Memory 8GB GDDR5X 8-16GB GDDR6
Memory Interface 256-bit 256-bit
Memory Speed

10 Gbps

16 Gbps
Memory Bandwidth 320 GB/s

512 GB/s

TDP 170-200W 180W

All of these numbers point to considerable improvements in performance and efficiency. At the end of the day, however, speculating on a graphics card that has yet to be released won't make it pop into existence, but the next best thing is a series of release dates that can tide you over until the product actually comes along.

Nvidia builds and releases in-house reference cards running on stock clock speeds and voltage, dubbed "Founders Edition" cards. Along this vein, sources tell TweakTown that the Founders Edition variant of the GTX 1180 will see a June 15th release, with OEMs like Asus, Gigabyte, and others releasing their own custom GTX 1180 cards later on in either August or September.

Prices are as of yet unknown, but it wouldn't be a stretch to suggest one similar to the initial $699 that the GTX 1080 Founders Edition set one back.

Apparently there's also a GTX 1170 on the way... Nvidia GTX 1170 preliminary specs and performance get leaked

" WCCFTech claims that the GTX 1170 expected performance is very similar to what the GTX 1080 Ti has to offer right now. "

I want one... :)
