MKV vidéo don't work in any player !

It sounds like the problem must be with that video file.

What video & audio codecs are used within the MKV container for that file?

Install MediaInfo Lite (link below). Then right-click the on that video file>MediaInfo to find out.

@DrKash VLC does support VP9.

I've never heard of "und" audio codec. Maybe VLC hasn't too.

That could explain why nothing will play it..?

I'm tired of this and the KMPlayer and am very glad to have moved to "PotPlayer" & MPC-HC.

@DrKash MKV from YouTube is quite trouble. WebM and MP4 are preferred.

Usually there's issue with H/W decoding, try with it disabled (Tools->Preferences->Input /Codecs-> set "Hardware-accelerated decoding" to "Disable" ). If you got it working after this, you better report this issue to the developers.

Developers stopped the project and they do not work anymore at VLC.

Тhere was a ticket they lied to. They are closing the reports without fix and the reports are locked for further comments.

it's fixed: http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=commitdiff;h=291dcad8cb55b8c99f54b6a602d923adcc2c82c6 but not for 3.0.1, probably will be compiled in 3.0.2 or any future version.
